2017 SHOOT & SHARE CONTEST RESULTS

Each year, Shoot & Share hosts a photography contest for photographers world wide. Photographers enter and photographers vote! Votes were cast from over 130 countries this year...holy cow! Categories range from various parts of a wedding to babies to families to animals to landscapes, etc! Photographers may enter up to 50 images into the contest. This year's contest had just under 333,000 images entered by AMAZING photographer world wide! During voting, where I didn't come across a single one of my images, I was so inspired by my colleagues!
We have some serious talent in this world and it is truly breathtaking! Voting took me out of this place and into the center of so many stunning locations I could only dream of visiting. I can't wait to pick up my camera on May 6th when we kick off our wedding season because I am filled with so much inspiration that I can't wait to unleash upon my awesome clients! I entered this contest for the first time in 2016 and made it to the top 20% with 3 images and the top 30% with 1 image. To me, making that far in a contest this talent-filled was truly unbelievable. Well, I surprised myself yet again!
Just before the midnight entry deadline, I ran to my computer (because I had totally forgotten the cutoff date) and grabbed about 50 random pictures from the past year and entered them. I was bleary-eyed and exhausted...and honestly super indecisive because all of our clients had some seriously amazing pictures from their weddings/sessions.
After a month of voting and calculations, the results are finally in and I am BLOWN AWAY! I had SEVEN images make it to the top 30% of the contest, SIX images make it to the top 20% and (drumroll please) one of my images of our beautiful bride, Kelli, was a FINALIST in the "Just the Bride" category! I am so thrilled that I had images make it through ALL TWELVE ROUNDS of voting! It still hasn't hit me that FOURTEEN of my images placed in the top 30% this year! What a huge leap from the FOUR that placed last year! I cannot wait to create some magic this year and see where we place in the 2018 contest!

9 MONTH MILESTONE PHOTOGRAPHY | Charlotte - Carmel, IN

I cannot believe this little girl is already 9 months old! I have absolutely loved capturing her milestones in our Carmel, IN natural light studio. Her big smile, goofy looks and adorable outfits always leave me smiling when the session is through! This milestone's theme was Easter! Along with her beautiful dress, she came fully loaded with easter eggs, a basket and a custom knit bunny outfit! I can't wait to see what we do for her 12 month session in June! P.S. We are birthday buddies...no wonder I adore her!

6 MONTH MILESTONE PHOTOGRAPHY | Brooklynn | Carmel, IN

It was so good seeing sweet Brooklynn again! Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of working with this cutie pie in our Carmel, IN studio again. I can't believe how much she has grown since her newborn session! This sweet little girl is so unique with her little noises and adorable grins. I can't wait to see how much she changes between now and her 12 month photography session!

NEWBORN LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY | Mia | Westfield, IN

I was thrilled to find out sweet Mia was born and could not wait to meet her! On Friday morning, I ventured up to Westfield to capture Mia, Elisabeth and Luke in their home through a lifestyle newborn session. Mia is so blessed with two parents who adore her and a big brother (their adorable dog) who refuses to leave her side. I cannot wait to watch this beautiful little girl grow through her first year milestone package.

TRAVEL | Texas - Houston, Katy, Waco, Galveston

In early January, we flew down to Houston, TX to visit our family that lives in Katy and we had so much fun adventuring with them! Friday was filled with tours of Houston and Katy as well as some delicious catfish from Texas Borders. Saturday we traveled out to Waco, TX to visit Magnolia Market! We are huge Fixer Upper (HGTV) fans and love Chip and Joanna's style so it was exciting to see some of their designs in person. They have created a little community in the heart of Waco called the Magnolia District. It is home to the Magnolia Silos, where locals and visitors can play with their children, eat yummy food from food trucks and the Silos Baking Co, shop 'til they drop in Magnolia Market and relax under umbrellas. Not to mention, all of the photo opportunities! That evening, we returned home and visited Yen Teppanyaki Sushi Steakhouse and ate the most delicious hibachi meal! Sunday was filled with our final adventures as we visited a popular coastal beach town in Texas, Galveston. We ran through the chilly waves with our silly niece, collected seashells and took in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico view. Although we had some hiccups with our flights, the trip was loaded with love and laughter as we bonded with our family and experienced a new area we had not been to before. We are excited to go back again soon! Until then, the photos we captured will just have to tide us over.

I am determined to have the Corinthians & Breaking Bread signs in our home!
