Author: Shannon Stacey

Genre: Romance

Main Theme: Romance, Rom-Com, Sports, Community

As with any Shannon Stacey novel, I was transported to a small town similar to those I’ve visited within my own state. Since finishing the book, the characters have stuck with me and I have found myself thinking about them often. Which is why I changed my original 4 star rating to a 5! I’ll admit, the beginning was a little hard to get into. This was my first venture into a series of hers other than the Kowalski one that I LOVE so that may have been why I struggled at first. I wasn’t sure if I could connect with the sports aspects and the main character being a police officer with a tough-guy mentality. I’m more of an emotional person so that posterior is usually hard for me to get on board with. But about halfway through, I really started to connect and ended up falling in love with the town and the characters.

Main Theme: Romance, Rom-Com,

The great thing about Shannon Stacey’s books is that you don’t have to read them in order because they involve different couples in each. Although, I would highly recommend reading the Kowalski Family series in order so that when they appear in the later stories, you get a little smile out of it. I found Shannon’s work when I was in college and have been an avid reader ever since. I already am onto trying out her Boys of Fall series and have the next Kowalski book waiting on my nightstand.

Spoilers Ahead

Liz is one of the Kowalski’s we never really met in previous stories (unless I’m completely forgetting) because she has been away from the small town she grew up in…until now. She’s back and bringing a whole bunch of misfortune along with her that draws the eye of police hottie (that she once hooked up with, Drew Miller. This story is just like any other from Stacey, in the best way, because it is filled with light laughter, a love story worth cheering for and a reunion filled with all of our favorite Kowalski family members. This is hands down, one of my favorites from the series that I would happily read again.

If you have not picked up the Kowalski series, DO IT! You will not be disappointed! I recommend this series to everyone and they always rave about it as well! They are the best options to toss in your getaway bag or read off your phone in a waiting room. What I’m trying to say is, there is never a bad time or place to read one of her stories. They are light-hearted and memorable, making them just perfect.
