Hamilton County Locations

A Quick Note

Looking for the perfect spot for your summer session around central Indiana? We’ve got you covered!
We’ve compiled a list of our top spots in Hamilton County for you to choose from. If you have a different location
in mind, feel free to send it my way and I will look into it! We are permitted for all of the locations
listed below. Most other locations that have not been listed are privately owned and require
additional permitting fees (ex: IMA Gardens/Newfields, Indy Parks, etc).

Flowing Well Park & West Park are closed for renovations.

01. Potters Bridge Park

Noblesville, IN

A wooded park with a historic covered bridge along the river.
My favorite parts of this park are the winding trails, lush greens
and riverside backdrops.

*The water may look a bit muddy in some photos but that is because it had
just rained a ton so it was very high. It is usually a deep blue grey
and the stones beneath can usually be seen during dry spells.

December-January: Typically a grayish tone to the woods and absolutely
magical when it snows.
February-April: Perfect for golden morning sessions (pictured below with bulldog)
May-August: Lush, thick green woods.
September-November: Colorful fall foliage EVERYWHERE.

My favorite park for winter and early spring sessions before we get
leaves on the trees. Also one of my favorites for fall sessions!

02. Founders Park

Carmel, IN

This park is filled with bamboo shoots and hidden ponds but is also the best wildflower spot
Hamilton County has to offer. The prime time for wild flowers is typically early June.
In the spring, you will find lush greens while late summer will turn more golden.
It truly is a chameleon! Since it is full sun, I do not typically recommend shooting
here on overly hot days where there is a high heat index. What is great about this
park is even when it is cloudy and spitting rain, it still makes for beautiful photos.

My personal favorite for the summer (May-August)!

03. The Palladium

Carmel, IN

A romantic and upscale venue surrounded by manicured gardens and architecture.
This is my number one selected spot for professional headshots and sessions where
couples want to get extra dressy for their portraits! This location is beautiful
year round and is typically empty prior to sunset. Morning sessions are
recommended when shooting here in the winter.

04. Coxhall Gardens

Carmel, IN

A stately park that is filled with lush green grass and minimal foliage.
The trademark spots at this location are along the pond, at the amphitheater
and at the estate gardens on the property. Sunday mornings (pictured in grid below)
are recommended to avoid foot traffic as this park gets rather busy in the summer
and fall. Sunsets (pictured below and in slideshow) are always lovely at this location
and typically offer a true “golden hour” for images.

*Dates available depends on the Ritz wedding schedule as this is one of their top venues.

05. Hazel Landing Park

Carmel, IN

When you turn off of Hazel Dell Pkwy onto the hidden drive to this park, you will hit
a wide open clearing that is the central point to all of the beautiful backdrops, making this
park extra accessible. With a landing that takes you directly down to the White River,
fields of wildflowers and dense mature trees, it’s no wonder why this spot is a favorite!

*This park WILL flood if there has been a lot of rain. Thankfully, Founders Park and
Flowing Well Park are both less than 5 minutes from this location so there are always backups!

06. Koteewi Park

Cicero, IN

Koteewi is not only a historic location for trading between early colonials
and the native Americans, but mammoth skulls have even been found here.
So cool, right?! This is our favorite park to hike when we want to escape
the city for an hour or two. There are many trails that are miles long but
we have pinpointed the best spots for photos near the parking lot so you
don’t have to trek through the woods.

The tall grasses catch the golden light of the evening while the thick wooded
trails offer a dreamy backdrop. This park is beautiful year round but really
shines in the summer and fall. Summer brings wildflowers galore and
flitting birds while fall allows for leaf-ridden paths and some additional
light falling through the trees.

07. Arts & Design District

Carmel, IN

What we love most about the Arts & Design District in Carmel is the
fact it has so many backdrop opportunities. From the murals to the classy
storefronts, there is a never-ending supply of backgrounds. If you are dreaming
of a bolder session with pops of blacks and color, then this is the spot for you.
This is not ideal for those wanting a truly light and airy look to their photos.
Wanting to take it a step further? Late evening sessions just before sunset
add a little extra magic with all of the strung lights and lit fountain.

*Early morning sessions are recommended to avoid foot traffic.

08. Historic Downtown

Noblesville, IN

Downtown Noblesville is a charming setting filled with old buildings,
beautiful summer gardens and more. This is a great spot for cozy sessions
with minimal foot traffic on weekdays.
